Based on this geometry for the T3 (http://biziosona.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/geometrie-route-sport-fr.gif), my 54" T3 is pretty much the same size and geometry as a small Holdsworth Trentino. So it looks like it should be a very similar riding position. Good find Panda, do you know the headtube length of the t3 54? I ride a 57 but with a short stem because I got it cheap second hand, but have often thought I'd be ok or even better off on and 54 (being 178cm but with short arms). Oh no no no just realised this could turn into another "what size frame" thread! Interesting about those 800g, I might contact Planet x and ask about the frameset weight.

Ok according to what I've found the frames (Trentino and Planet x Pro Carbon) are around the same weight but are not exactly the same. The Holdsworth has a tapered head tube and also comes with a fork with an alloy steerer, this would probably add about 200g in weight. Also a full groupset in Tiagra is around 400g heavier than Ultegra, (although both appear to have the same chainset which is usually where a lot of the bulk lies). Factor in different wheels and that probably explains the approx 800g difference. Now if your thinking like me of just getting the frameset then might also be worth having a look at the Holdsworth Stelvio, if you can stand the paint work, its geometry appears the same but had a carbon steerer so again bringing the weight down and also perhaps helping dampen road buzz. Not to say alu steerers are bad, look at our beloved t3 and the one major criticism of the Pro Carbon is that the front fork flexes too much. I'm definitely going to have to get to Sheffield to check them out in the flesh before they all go or the price gets silly. Plenty in stock at the mo.

I don't have any problem with the T3 forks with road buzz, so I am happy with the Trentino set up. I don't really like the colour schemes on the Stelvio, but I really like the Trentino Green/Black/White colour scheme (each to his own I suppose). Does the tapered head tube make any difference? I think that I would be happy with Tiagra, I don't like the thumb shifters on the T3. My daughter has the T3A and this has microshifters, which are excellent. Finally, sorry, but I can't see the head tube size of the T3, the geometry I linked on the previous post did not include this.

Regarding the tapered head tube, I'm no expert but believe they are becoming more common, like oversized bottom brackets, as they help with stiffness and power transfer, ie more of your effort from each pedal stroke makes it through to the wheels/road. In reality I'm not sure the average sportive/recreational rider would notice massively, but maybe if you were thinking of racing you might detect more response. I've had a go on a boardman team carbon which has a tapered head tube and found it a really fast and precise ride, that could be due to any number of factors though (carbon, geometry wheels etc).
