Loving the new PX bike although I don't think I could bring myself to ride a blue & White one lol . The guru blue is a bit lighter so I might just get away with that . I also like the Alur TBH

I was told in store that they would allow you to put down a "deposit" which would then bring the c2w voucher down to below the £1000 threshold. Not sure if that applies to all stores though. It's what I'm hoping to do in March... unless I get the PX pro carbon before then

My exact dilemma. Think I'm going to go Planet X tho Didn't realise this about the CycleScheme and Planet X : CYCLESCHEME LEVY A 10% COMMISSION ON ALL ORDERS PAID FOR USING THEIR VOUCHERS, WE ARE UNABLE TO ABSORB THIS FEE AS WE ALREADY OFFER THE BEST POSSIBLE PRICES AND THEREFORE THESE ORDERS ARE SUBJECT TO A FEE OF 10% OF YOUR TOTAL VOUCHER VALUE. Is this the same for all suppliers?

Is this the same for all suppliers? You have to check each supplier, to see if they do C2W, which scheme(s) they use, and any fees they add for using C2W!!!! Decathlon did not surcharge me on my 5A, I don't think Evans or Halfords do either. I believe Dolan and Ribble do surcharge! Despite what the politicians say, it feels like we are still in a recession! So if you are buying (with or without C2W), HAGGLE.

Hi i have just joined so excuse me if there are any problems with my post. After a lot of research, i think the 300 is just a continuation of the original 3. The 500SE is the bike with the blue hoods and all the same components as the 3a just with a aesthetically tweaked 5a frame. The 500 is the more expensive model at £449, which includes a FULL sora groupset. I think that's what makes it more expensive than the current 5a. This picture shows what I think is the rear of the new 500, as it shows sora brakes and brakepads along with the new Hutchinson tires only on the 500 and 500se. www.decathlon.co.uk/media/823/8239801/big_800PX_mediacom_952636_20131217114105590.jpgIt also shows the new 500 frame, if you look closely the blue is higher up on the stays and does not have '5a' printed all over it like the 5a does. Here is a picture of both the 500se and 500, both show this new blue print on the fork and stays. www.flickr.com/photos/perniciousviper/10597719364/

When will decathlon get the 500 as it will be worth the extra £20 over the 5a if it's full sora
Presume it will still be a tripple

I notice the crank on this bike is not the one we saw previously (haven't read the review yet as need to get some work done) - the crank was a niggling issue with the bike for me, I think I can live with the rear brake position as can't see it getting that much more gunk than the 'normal' position after the experience of this winter; I am liking this bike - been discussing carbon bikes with my racer mate, he got rid of his Planet X a few years back on the basis it was too flexy and he's about 4 stone lighter than me, which makes you wonder if Aluminium is the way to go and the endurance ride position appeals on a practical level ... this bike is looking very attractive for the new season.
