I've had no issues with the mount, think it works quite well and easy to remove. I just don't like the tight spot on it, might look into getting something like this >> Just use this light on my mountain bike for my commute.

Mine heads downwards, maybe it's just the terrible roads on the IoW shaking it!
The diffuser sounds like a good idea, I reckon you could make one from some translucent plastic from a bottle such as a washing up bottle or milk container.

Jimc, you can change your preferences on amazon so prime is not automatically activated at the end of your free trial period. I'm undecided between the torch style lights or the ones with the battery pack. When I start commuting some of the roads I will ride down are unlit so I needed ensure I can see the road saw as well as others seeing me. Think the headlamp ones will be best suited.

Nice one @al didn't know that thanks. Have now set it to expire and I've done all my Christmas shopping!

The DIY milk bottle diffuser worked pretty well last night - I cut a circle out of a plastic milk bottle and pushed it into the front of the lens. There's a bit of range reduction as you'd expect, but the diffuser made a big difference to mid to close range, I much prefer it. I'll try to take some photos of the beam patterns with and without tonight. Surprisingly it stayed in place for the entire ride too!

@al Still waiting on it arriving altho a plug adopter did come this morning from the same seller which kinda confused me but after reading the reviews on amazon it seems that it is needed to charge the light, hopefully will get the light next week. Will let you know then what its like but tbh most peeps who reviewed it say it is super bright

Light came today @al, tested tonight, this thing is BRIGHT ! im afraid to turn it on ^^ , low setting is great but prolly best to keep it pointed at ground, other 2 modes just get brighter and brighter well worth the money, was talking to a fella other night who bought a 70 quid light that didn't throw out much light, for 23 quid this thing is amazing.

Perfect, thanks baz. I've told the wife I'd like one for Christmas along with some SKS raceblade mudguards. Going to be all set for commuting to work when I get those items.

SKS raceblade longs are great, a bit fiddly to fit eg: what brackets to use eg: long or short ones, but easy enough to figure out and once on they are solid.

Have wrapped electrical tape round my battery as the top and bottom is only cardboard and will go soggy
Where are you putting yours baz? I've put mine on top of the rear forks as I have my pannier on at the moment it is secure in there .
