Gawd, but the conditions are horrible.
All of Team GB have abandoned now. Given the weather I wouldn't even think about predicting the outcome, it is a mess.
On the JTL thing, it seems the oddness comes from the last part of his time with Endura in 2012, he came onto the Blood Passport program after winning the ToB and this seems to be from that pre-Sky period. I'm more interested in just who leaked this to Walsh and why.

Well I expected it to be someone who wasn't mentioned amongst the strong favourites and I was right, great finish though I have no idea what Rodriguez was doing trying to talk to Costa at the death - the old way of bribery perhaps?! I have a feeling the race, like many others this year, will be talked about for years to come mainly due to the weather.

I thought Costa was just going to get the jump on Rodriguez when he sat up. Absolutely epic race to win. All the finishers should have gotten a medal.
Wiggins is a bit of a pussy.

He also mentions it could be down to the illnesses JTL has been suffering from this year being similar to how he had suffered when he first left the sport.

The finish reminded me of a track sprint with neither rider wanting to be the first to make a move and launch the other. I can't help but think that the tendency for most British riders to train abroad all winter to avoid the adverse weather might have some effect on their performance when conditions are poor. Obviously most will have done plenty training in bad weather before turning pro but everything in British Cycling/Team Sky seems to be based on labs and theoretical perfection rather than dealing with real world scenarios. Need to get Wiggo and co training around the highlands rather than Majorca

Team GB's performance was pathetic, Wiggins has gone right down in my books, seems like he couldn't be arsed riding for Froome so just threw in the towel, very disapointing seeing all our lads wimping out, only Froome, Cav and Rowe seemed to be racing at all.

Think you can drop Froome from the list as well. Cav and Luke Rowe gave it everything before dropping out, because of the hills they were never going to make the end even in good conditions, pity the rest of the team couldn't respect their efforts. Its been known for quite a while that all Wiggins cared about was the time trial, combine that with the bad blood between him and Froome and I think having him in the road race team was a selection error. I still really enjoyed the race, in the end the Italians and Spanish plus Rui Costa got the excitement going.

Agreed, loved the race, feel bad for Nibali missing out after his efforts, but Costa deserved his win he's a tactical genius.
