Just watched on a dodgy Italian stream. Gold for Martin, silver for Wiggins and bronze Cancellara.

Watched it on BBC2 (different) - fair deal for Wiggo, beating Cancellara is still pretty awesome - Martin was flying today and won fair and square.

Good race, but Martin was different level from others today. Good result though for wiggo. Bring on the road race! Bit surprised Cav included in team not Miller, given that very lumpy course and unlikely to be bunch sprint but love Cav so hope he has a good day supporting the rest of the guys

Agreed, great ride from Martin, was so far ahead the only suspense was for the silver, which was a good achievement for Wiggo.

Yes indeed. I am pleased for Brad but the "Panzerwagen" was in a different class. I thought he was awesome a few weeks back when he almost won a stage of the Vuelta from start to finish. He was so strong, the peleton just couldn't close him down until the last few metres.

They pointed out on BBC2 that he would have been 6th in the TTT on his own; which means he was cutting the wind on his own as well as a full team.

Think we are a bit past the time of the Likely Lads now, virtually impossible to avoid results if you don't watch things live (I know most people are working

This forum has a simple method - if you don't want to know what's happening until you watch it yourself, then don't open the thread ... simples (yep I know you're joking, always makes me think wtf on another forum) ! Quite what people expect others to talk about on a racing thread, apart from the racing, is beyond me?

Martin is just scary, he seems even more powerful than Spartacus was at his best (round the time he was accused of having a motor in his downtube). Good ride from Wiggins, show's what he can do if his head is in the right place, though it could of been touch and go has Spartacus not had a communication problem. Kiryienka and Phinney were about where I expected.
Most impressed with Quaade, he was an extremely good U23 time trialler and now seems to be bring that talent to the seniors. Pity the rest of his racing doesn't match his TTing.

Welcome back F! 'turn, turn, turn' as 'The Byrds' say I reckon ... good to have your views back online . Alex Dowsett was my disappointment, without criticism towards him, just like the fella and would have liked to have seen him rocking on a bit more.

Dowsett wasn't a surprise as he hasn't really been training for the TT recently. So not that bad a ride.

True, he was just ill recently but it strikes me that he has bounced around a bit and not finding the straight line to getting these things dialled.

Not much to add beyond what's been said, looking forward to the Road Race on Sunday. Just heard on the Radio JTL has withdrawn and being replaced by Luke Rowe, shame, I was hoping he'd be able to cap off his season with something positive.
