Not much to add beyond what's been said, looking forward to the Road Race on Sunday. Just heard on the Radio JTL has withdrawn and being replaced by Luke Rowe, shame, I was hoping he'd be able to cap off his season with something positive. JTL seems to have gotten on the wrong end of "marginal gains", he's one of several Sky riders who've not performed well due to being on the wrong training regime and has ended up over training. If he gets the training right I thing we'll see more from him next year. Rowe will be a fairly good worker for the team so not a bad replacement.

We had a discussion regarding JTL on the ToB thread. I was hoping for great things from him this year following last season's results but he just seems to have had a string of DNFs. He had some obscure virus a few years back which put him out of the sport for some time. I wonder if he is just not robust enough to take the demanding Sky training program.

Worrying news this morning. It seems That JTL's withdrawal may not be due to lack of form.

It's good to see the person who broke it was David Walsh for The Sunday Times as he has been getting a lot of flak recently for supposedly giving Sky an easy ride compared to how he chased LA. It's an interesting one though and I'm intrigued to see how Sky respond to it, especially after GL & SY last year. Apparently suspicions were rife about JTL before he joined Sky, so either Sky need to vet employees more thoroughly or something isn't quite right! Unfortunately a lot of people will jump to the latter conclusion due to the era we're in, but whether or not that's true I doubt we'll ever find out.

Did anyone see the U23 Men's race. The eventual winner had the most bizarre descending style I've ever seen.

I am presuming JTL has signed the 'I'm clean Guv' Sky pledge, in which case he could be playing a dangerous game (allegedly).

Froome now out as well, there goes British hopes of a world champion! If I was a betting man I'd be tempted to take a punt on Gilbert or Boassen Hagen throwing up a surprise win. Depends on how fresh their legs are though as they have Nibali, Cancellara & Sagan to still contend with.
