Can anyone suggest a way to accurately weigh my bike.
I have tried the whole, stand on the scales, they stand holding my bike and deducting the difference

I do the weigh yourself and then again holding the bike and deduct the difference. No problem in this as far as I can see.

Pop to a DHL depot and enquire about shipping the bike. They will weigh it to give you a quote.

If you manage to get your weights accurate enough, you mind letting me know the weight of the standard wheels?

I'v one of those luggage scales thingy's for flying with sleazyjet, was a bit difficult to get the centre of gravity balance right, but once I had, it measured it quite accurately.
Otherwise I've done the same as the OP stated, stand on a set of scales and deduct the difference from your body weight.

When on hols (like I am now, typing by a pool in Greece) I needed to know the weight of suitcases to fly home. I made a balance using an umbrella pole and a litre of water (one kilo) and a ruler. Look up steelyard on Google. Works more accurately than you would think!
Not as good as a fishing balance I'd agree, but good at a pinch.

Thanks robo, excellent find and thanks to @jugglingandroid for weighing the components. Roughly then, the R501 would be 1.5kg(give or take because of the tyres) less than the standard wheels. Even a 1kg saving is bound to make a difference when they are revolving so many times per minute.

Aldi is flogging fishermen's scales that can weigh things up to 22kgs for Β£3 or Β£4 quid at the moment...

Even a 1kg saving is bound to make a difference when they are revolving so many times per minute. It won't be anywhere near a 1.5kg saving I'm afraid. Remember the tyres and tubes are around 350g per wheel, plus the cassette (around 250g, maybe more. The standards wheels aren't nearly as heavy as people think.

Lol can't you see I'm trying to justify spending more money on my T3
