That seems to be a cross-thread of the pedal - human error.

when you first fitted the pedal dude, did it feel like the thread was ok then or did it take a lot to screw it in? Id imagine they will send you out a new crank arm and possibly new pedal. Will you be ok to fit it? Good luck, im sure you'll get a good response pretty quick They were already fitted in store, but I checked it over myself before heading out on it the first time and everything felt fine. Should be fine to fit it, Youtube is great for stuff like that these days

I've found of recent times, email contacts and telephone can take a while to get a response as you are not sure if you are getting through to the best person. I would really recommend, if you have FB, get in touch using their page as they reply within hours of you messaging.

No one likes a smart arse contact made - awaiting reply. If I don't get one, I'll use the tip of going via their Facebook page.

Not yet. Decathlon Facebook bloke/bird has been excellent in communication and is chasing up the customer service team to get in contact ASAP. Will hopefully hear from them today.

Received an email back from the Reading store;
I have a few issues with this;
Firstly, I noted in my original email that it happened when I was on a short “sprint” section on my way home – they have basically said the Triban 3 will not hold up to any (or very little) out of the saddle pedal-work and makes it sound like they don’t have any (or very little confidence) in this bike (or the crankset at the very least) short of just heading out for a Sunday afternoon pootle for a mile or two..and that I should now fork out another £500 and get a 5 because I could easily run into further problems! Surely this is a technique widely used by most riders (entry level or not) to get up to cruising speed, at the very least.
I appreciate their gesture on giving me a gift card if I got the repair done by LBS, if I can’t make it to Reading for them to take a look at, but it really hasn’t given me any confidence that I’ll be able to ride the bike without worrying about a similar thing happening again. And even if I could get it down to Reading (which would cost me around £40 in fuel as well as the time to get there and back (probably around half a day), it sounds like they’d just repair it rather than replace the whole crank set.
To say I’m disappointed is an understatement (especially after all the positive comments on here regarding customer service). I’ll probably take it to LBS and get the repair done as suggested, but will have little confidence in a repaired crank set and unfortunately no money to upgrade it.

Not surprised that you feel that way, Jon. For them to suggest that the bike is in any way fragile is surely a nonsense. How much is a Sora chain set, as a matter of interest?
