panda does the hi viz helmet your mate wears reflect as well, or is it just brightly coloured? Yes, I think that it has the 3M strips on it. My friend is a doctor working in a high dependency unit. He loves his cycling, but takes his safety very seriously, I suppose he sees some of the worst that can happen. He is super high-vis. One of my other friends got hit by a car when training for an Iron Man (charity) and his wife told me that his helmet cracked in half, but saved his skull (the rest of him is in a bad state). I know we can all find stories like this, but at the end of the day it is just a helmet and there is a chance it may save you, so I think that everyone should wear one really.

I totally agree with you. Quite like those hi viz ones even if only for riding at night.

Halfords have a couple of Boardman ones atm that are around the Β£60 mark. Nice and comfy and quite light and strong. Mavic make some nice lids and the Kask Mojito I tried on recently was just amazing, but Β£150 was too much! Im seriously tempted by the Boardman ones. My Giro is fine but not very comfy. I have a very small head so always need the small size for a proper fit and lots of places carry medium and large!
It's defintely one of those things you have to try on. You could try ten different lids and they'd all feel different!

If I may interject...helmet for road cycling, visor or no visor? To me a helmet with a visor when on a road bike is a big no no. Think it looks awful. Carry on.

But yes a road helmet with full visor will make you look like total imbecile unless your in a pro competition where them seconds count lol

The visor looks wrong, end of!
I'd just been reading about a new work hard hat with integrated drop down visor to eliminate having to wear goggles!

I use the same helmet for road and MTB and the visor is removed every time I'm on the road. I don't really notice the visor while on the MTB but on the road I think it reduces visibility because of the different riding position. And it looks wrong

Same, I use a Giro Hex and had to remove the visor because I had to lift head too much to see where I was going.

found no issues with the visor (on an mtn helmet) on the road bike and actually find it very useful. but then I spend my life being the odd one out... I also dont' care what I look like either, and ride my mtb in my road lycra... as well as touring in lycra shorts/leggings so I guess I am just very strange and probably can be discounted and ignored!

That looks a good buy! Does not match my bike though I've gone with a Specialized Propero 2. Best fitting one I could find. The fit varied so much between brands.
