Hi all - just curious to see what should be expected when buying a triban, I noticed someone mentioning a DVD that came with their bike, something which I didn't receive. Was there anything useful on the disc?

I got a disc.no idea what was on it never looked. Assume technical info. Also got set of useless lights and a bell that never made it past the car park bin! Also got some shims for shifters to decrease reach which have been fitted as I've obviously got girly hands!

Mine came with a puncture! Got the DVD (pretty useless), 2 pairs of shims for the brakes (4 and 8 degrees). Multi tool thing (pretty useful actually). Mine never came with lights, though my mates one did, though the front one looks like a halogen one from your kitchen, and the rear one doesn't flash so not very useful!

And a bell of course (it's a legal requirement) though this went straight on to my 3 year old's scooter.

An persistent urge to buy things related to cycling. Can you get rehab clinics for cyclists?

Don't forget those 'lovely' orange spoke reflectors which a few of you seem to have left on your wheels

I didn't get anything except the bike itself and the legal requirements of a bell and wheel reflectors. I feel a bit left out now...

I got a terribly bulky and nasty front light. They offered a bottle cage instead but I had already ordered some online.

Never realised a bell was a legal requirement - I wondered why the guy put it on the bike despite fact I said not too and threw it in nearest bin! Not having it spoil my T3!

Can't recall getting a bell, I thought I'd put that on afterwards, so useful that I can never understand why anyone takes them off. The bl00dy great spoke reflectors came straight off though as i think they unbalance the wheels. I got the DVD, but I've not seen it since the day the bike came home, nor the shims which i think I could do with despite having fairly large hands (over an octave span on a piano keyboard ) I had the 'upgrade kit', which my wife wanted to put on. So I got the fairly cheesy lights, bottle + cage, better(?) bar tape, pump, and michelin tyres. To be fair, the lights are not bad, but the front one is just too big. Oh yes, I also got FIT.
