Do you think the Decathlon guys will strike me a deal on accessories? You don't ask, you don't get.......

Although my shoes are only MTB SPD, not SPD-SL or what not. So I will need shoes as well. God, I don't want to spend over 500 I had Shimano 'XT' MTB pedals fitted to my 5A when I bought it in March and wear Specialized Comp MTB shoes. Don't like roadie pedals or shoes. This is the exact set up my mate has…Seems to work perfectly. And the pedals are large enough (but not really large at all) that if you were just nipping to the shops, you wouldn’t have to get cleated up as you’ve got somewhere to put your feet!

Haha yeah that does make me feel a little bit better!! I so would have gone for a t3...but I just can't stand the red, so happy to spend an extra 130 just to get a nicer colour!! Excited?! Excited?! I will be in bed tonight like a kid at Christmas, in the car by 8am and there by half 9! Fitted and out the door by 10, home by 11:30! Get changed, and off out I go at blistering speed (probably around 10mph) on my new streamline steed! Any advise on necessary accessories to become a roadie? I've got: Helmet Oakleys Gloves Shorts Tops SPD shoes (No pedals?!?!) Saddlebag / tools I would presume I would need: decent pump, track pump maybe? Spare tubes (by the bucketload with non Kevlar tyres) Anything else?! Cripes! That’s a bit prepared! I have literally NO accessories Hoping Tesco Extra has a few inner tubes in stock tonight as I’m off out for the T3’s maiden ride with Rad tomorrow morning, so I don’t want to get a puncture miles from home! I could barely afford the bike, so accessories will have to come as and when I can afford them, which is unfortunate. I was a bit “hmm..not sure about the red”, after I’d committed to buying it, but having seen it in the flesh last night for the first time, my worries disappeared immediately as it looks absolutely awesome! where are you guys going?

Local to here Dan, meeting at McDonalds Gloucester (the southern one just off the M5 Jnc 12 at the A38 roundabout) and riding around Frampton and other local spots below the Cotswolds, next to the Severn. Before anyone kicks off, I will be doing 15 miles to get there for breakfast at 9 - 9.30am and have sussed that the OatSoSimple, Bacon Buttie and Coffee is a spot on breakfast nutritionally !!!

A mate of mine MTB's and road rides and has specialized shoes and MTB shimano clipless pedals on his road bike and MTB...I liked the idea because the clip on the shoe was recessed so if you wanted to get off and walk or were at the pub en route, they are easier to walk in...but then I read it's against the rules to fit MTB pedals, so won't be going there Pah, rules schmules. I've got MTB pedals on my T3 and they are staying put. In fact if anyone else wants to be able to walk without looking like they've crapped themselves in road shoes with protruding cleats, I really recommend some crank brothers candy pedals

Spd sl's are a must for longer rides. Decent shoes also. If I'm nipping out trainers are fine as the surface area is large enough. Just saying!!

I was excited as a fat kid in a sweet shop when Lakeside reserved me a 57 T3. Took half day off to make sure I got it the next day. This was last year. I feel for those trying to get hold of Tribans now, specially T3s in the right size. p.s. SPD-SL/Look all the way for a road bike
