I'm interested to see if the Van Rysel range becomes a 'more expensive' range. BTwin has always been known for VFN, but I wonder whether that mantel will be taken over by Triban and whether Van Rysel will take the price of an Ultra and raise it to a similar level as Trek, Giant and other more expensive brands? I really hope not, but I could see the logic of it. No, the Decathlon philosophy is 'To sell attractive, hi-tech sports items at the lowest possible prices, to enable as many people as possible to access our products.' The current Ultra range, although more expensive than the Triban range still represents great value as you know from your cf and that won't change with the name. I'm sure even at 5000 euros the Super Record 12 speed cf mentioned in the CW article above will still be good value. There was mention in the Road cc article of a budget VanRysel and there is a Triban 900 planned so the ranges will overlap in pricing in the future. Exciting times!  |

I'm biased but I prefer the Blue/Black/Pink colours of the Ultra I thought it was a bit gaudy when it first came out, as I liked the all black look of my Mach, but it has certainly grown on me. I don't think the Van Rysel font is the best and I think the colours are a little too understated. I would have thought that the brand would have been launched with a visual bang rather than a whisper. But, what do I know? |

I'm waiting for the Btwin branded clothing to be sold off at bargain prices. I don't care what it says on it as long as it's comfy and cheap.
