Hi, I'm Neil - bought my Triban 300 in 2014 to cycle to uni and love it. I was knocked off a few weeks ago so decided to upgrade some of the components. Will post pics once complete.

Welcome. Interested to hear about what components you intend to upgrade? Is this to replace damages to the bike or to try to improve it?

Thank you, hopefully a little of both. So far I have Shimano R500 wheels with Conti GP attack / force tyres, carbon fork, 105 caliper brakes, plus I'm converting it to a 1x8 with new rear mech, flat bars and mtb shifter.

Welcome Are you aware that road caliper brakes have a different pull ratio to mtb brakes? If you use standard mtb levers they can feel very 'wooden' and not be as powerful. Some levers are adaptable with different cable attachment points, or you can get Claris road specific flat bar shifter/brake units.

Thanks Chas,
Yes, I'm aware of the pull difference, especially with levers that utilise a V Brake set up. My set up should be OK. I'll post some pics later on today.
I've sanded the frame down yesterday in prep for new paint, I'm going with a matt white finish and using btwin decals that I sourced from Etsy.
