Looks nice...bit you must have a different definition of 'as I'm skint' if just spent over a grand on a bike! 😁😁😁

I reckon it's a snip at £1,200. What's more it's RED with white accents just like my two road bikes. Halfords offered these a few years back and I seriously considered buying one before opting for a Cinelli Saetta Radical with a similar spec. I have a lot of respect for Chris Boardman but somehow the Cinelli name swung it for me.

Didn't fancy a different BTwin then? I really did consider the B'TWIN ULTRA 900 CF which is very similarly specced to the Boardman, right down to sub 8kg weight (quoted for medium). However, one of my colleagues has the AF version with the same paint job, and whilst distinctive, wasnt really my cup of tea. Since then, I've probably looked at more bike reviews and been in more shops asking questions than i care to remember, getting to stage where in some cases i've known more (and corrected) the salespersons Youre so right phred1812, as soon as i saw the Boardman, i thought the color scheme was highly distinctive, unique and was what i wanted. When i went to my newly opened CR, the staff there couldnt believe the RRP was only £1200, some £5/600 less than a few years ago. Fortunately for me, only frame size XL was available otherwise they would have all been bought by staff i was informed. Was only 6 of them in the uk so i was lucky my window of opportunity for buying was in these past 4 weeks. Was also able to trade in an old kiddies bike (a not too shabby green carerra that the mechanic took a shine to and was considering converting to a urban stunt bike) and got a further 10% off. That pretty much sealed the deal for me. Picked up last night, and it looks even better in the flesh than on screen and very pleased with purchase. Plan on stripping off the reflectors, bell etc, and changing the 23mm tyres for 25 (might try latex or lightweight tubes), fit my Selle Carbonio in lieu of the fizik, and will remove the Aksiums for a set of Campag Zondas that will be here in a few days time, and that should remove a good 300-400g as well as making it more comfortable. (dont tell the wife!!) Just typical that I'm away this weekend for a holiday and wont get a proper ride, but not worrying too much as long as this good weather holds out. Will get photos and more thoughts etc uploaded as and when I get out

Hardly at all yet unfortunately, had a quick spin this morning just to make sure everything was fitted correctly and make some tweaks. Will hopefully get out this week at some point.

I've transferred them onto the 700AF. The timing worked out pretty well as the stock wheel hubs on the Btwin, particularly the rear were crumbling apart and they had very little braking surface left. Not bad for 3 years and 4500 miles in all weather conditions.
