Hi all, Thought it was about time I introduced myself. Been the proud owner of a red Triban 3 which bought me back into cycling after a 15 year lay off , purchased post 2012 Olympics - cheers Brad. Did a couple of sportives on my BTwin but also 'moved up' to a Giant and ride both regularly. Enjoy club rides, solo rides and sportives and biggest achievement is C2C in a day , loved it great experience. Would like to be better at bike maint so regularly look at the tech site when visiting the owners club site. Recently joined the Fix Your Own Bike system with 'Outspoken' cycles in Cambridge where I can go along and work on my bike with an instructor/mechanic nearby and a whole host of tools and basic spares available . Presently in the process of changing the headset, wheels and, hopefully, chainset etc to Shimano 105. There ya go, I'm in.

Welcome on board!
I'd also be interested to hear about the C2C experience - Was thinking of making that a goal for 2018.
Also sound cool about the 'Outspoken' Cycles stuff.
Looking forward to hearing much more!

I did the C2C in a Day organised by Open Cycles starting at Seascale and finishing in Whitby tackling Hardknotts and Wrynose Pass's to name just a couple of the major climbs. Unfortunately didn't manage to get over without a bit of walking but it was an amazing experience. Very well organised, four great feedstations and we were blessed with great weather, 2016, and although it was a hard day it was truly wonderful day. Managed it in a total time of just over 13 hours, Strava time just under 12 , but whichever time you prefer to accept I was totally chuffed. Often say I would like to do it again but having had such a wonderful experience I'd be frightened of spoiling the memory if it wasn't such a good second attempt . Recommend it though, it's a great day out.

Shimano 105 added to my T3 turned a very good bike into a great one! The fact we don't rely on LBS is an added bonus.

Loving the 105 on my T3, although I had less success with the 10 speed version. Outspoken is pretty cool, I did a one day course there a few months ago and really enjoyed it.
