Hi I'm Steve from Southampton. Just purchased my first road bike and can't wait to get out on it. It's a Triban 540 and apart fro. Commuting to Winchester -I will be looking to increase my fitness with some cycling events. Bike technology has certainly moved on and there a lot on this bike which I know little about - so any technical tips or things to look out for, I would appreciate. Didn't get an owners manual with mine.....is that an old school expectation?

Welcome on board. Hopefully the forum and access to people on here can replace the old school manual.
I've certainly learned lots from people on here and reading about problems and solutions.

Thanks Paul. What bike do you currently ride? I have a T5 on which I commute and use for pleasure in the winter and a Mach 720 that is the summer stead. You need to look out for ChrisD and his fleet of BTwin as he is often around your area.  |

Hope you're enjoying the bike. As Paul says, I'm often in the Southampton area as I work in Southampton (at the University) and occasionally commute across the New Forest by bike from Wimborne. Happy to meet for a ride or two during the summer. |
