I've got the X-tools ones and they do the job so definitely don't need to the park tools ones.

Thanks. I've not had a problem cutting cable housing before, but this is the first time I've used Decathlon housing and it seems considerably tougher than whatever I've used in the past.

Also from scewfix ~ Forge Steel Cable Cutter 8" (210mm) (2916C. I've used them quite a lot and no signs of wear 'n' tear yet. Just checked price on line £7-99.

I bought the screwfix ones years ago and they do work for very occasional use. They're not designed to cut hardened steel cable though (more for copper and aluminium electrical cable) and do show wear. For a couple of years now I've used a Jobsworth set at home from Planet X, they're much better. At work we use the Decathlon ones and I prefer them to the Jobsworth but they've been out of stock for a while, I'll check tomorrow if there's a date for when they're due back. www.decathlon.co.uk/cable-cutting-pliers-id_8352340.html

I've got the Park cutters as I was fed up of the cheap ones not actually doing the job and I can say they work great, even managed to cut through a cable bike lock when some numpty locked his bike against mine!

In my experience with cable cutters the old saying buy cheap buy twice is appropriate. Wiggle havethe Park cutters for £18.29. The built in crimper makes a neat job of the end caps too.

Park cutters for me. No damage to the blades after a lot of action.

Park for me too. As mentioned above cut great and crimp, buy cheap buy twice - done this too many times!

Sensing a lot of Park-love here

I don't get it. my Screwfix one's I've used dozens of times (on mine and friends bikes), on all the housing and gears and have no damage to the blades.
I've not bought twice and I certainly bought cheap - no park love from me, no point.

I've not bought twice and I certainly bought cheap - no park love from me, no point. Maybe not yet. Prime example for me was the Aldi Tool kit, great bit of a kit for the price when i got it but within 12 - 18 months i replaced all the tools (well the ones i actually used) with better quality ones as they'ed broke / worn etc.

The Decathlon cutters should be back in stock in a couple of weeks and are good quality (they get a lot of use here) but tbh with the Park ones that price I'd probably pay a bit extra for the built in crimper.
