To be fair, I don't think they look too bad karma846 compared to my Shimanos. I'd say mine lasted 2000 miles, about 8 months, from March until November'ish. For £5-£6 it's hardly a life changing no purchase. I'm going to give them a chance. For cleats, they really only wear walking about... so unless you walked 2000miles, I'm far from convinced the mileage means anything. My shimano's lasted about 1.5 years. I walk a bit (~50m) to get from bike shed to my office.

We'd have to walk (waddle) up and down a stoned hilly path to get to and from the hostel. That must have been a good 200m each way on multiple occasions.

Actually got around to fitting my genuine Shimano cleats let week and had my first ride on them yesterday.
They felt terrible, very loose when clipped in and hard to clip out again with a totally diffident fit movement required.
I used to have to turn my foot outwards to unclip but it now needs me to left the inside of my foot, not a big problem I know as long as I remember when I need to unclip in a hurry.
I have tried playing around with the screw adjuster on the back of the pedals but it doesn't make much difference.
Anyone else found this with new cleats?

I've always found the genuine shimano cleats to be ok. I've never had to adjust the screw on the pedal either.

What pedals do you have and what cleats have been OK? Shouldn't be a problem with genuine pedals and cleats.

I have r540 pedals and have been using yellow Shimano cleats so these new ones were a like for like replacement although the 'nose' section looked narrower on the new ones so I don't know if they have changed the design slightly. Just a case of getting used to them I guess but it is like starting all over again with clipless.

I use the same, as do my kids and as they've grown we've swapped round different pedals with different cleats and had no issues at all. I've not put any new ones on for a while but I've got some ready and the nose measures the same width as the old ones on my shoes, if yours are different maybe they're faulty?
