I popped into Decathlon again today because I have a number of bits and pieces on my birthday list. Other than a pair of padded shorts and some gloves I don't have any purpose built clothing yet. I saw lots in the range on line that looked good and competitively priced. But when I got to the store I was somewhat underwhelmed by the quality.
Starting with the £4.99 stuff, I thought it was not bad for the money but its 'occasional' branding seemed right and that wasn't what I was after.
Moving to £8.99, perhaps a little more lacking in the fit stakes? The 1/4 zip bulging awkwardly.
£17.99 stuff had more style on the hanger but I found it very unflattering to wear and some of it had seams across the nipples which was really annoying. Not only that it looked flimsy and thrown together on the stitching stakes. Threads hanging all over the place.
I can't say I'm the ideal shape for cycling clothing anyway and of course that will play a part but equally I am fit enough to get away with some pretty tight stuff.
What do you guys and gals think? Did you find some BTwin gear that works for you?
I nipped down the road to Go outdoors and found/bought better at £18.00 (Dare2be)

The 700 jersey and bib shorts are excellent. As with all things you get what you pay for; if you can afford it then get the better quality stuff rather than buying cheap and replacing it. Having said that I started off with some of the cheaper BTWIN jerseys and shorts a few years ago and quality is fine but tend to use just for the turbo or shorter rides/commutes now.

I always thought the Dare2Be stuff is just the wrong fabric, not what I'd want at all. As william39 has said, the 700 stuff is fabulous, remember this stuff is worn by world tour pros.

I understand what you mean about the Dare2B fabric to look at. But its now had a few wears and I'm really liking it.

I've had one of the white £4:99 tops for nearly a year. The fit is good, with no chaffing etc, still looks like new after all the times in the washing machine. Yes, I like them.

Thanks, I'm gonna try these. I did get a BTwin cycling jacket that looks and fits great. But its still a bit too warm down here in the south to wear anything like that yet. Strange thing is it's not on the decathlon website (yet) so I can't point anyone to the style. I'm pretty sure its new stock as opposed to end of line though as I haven't seen it before in the store.

I must admit I'm not fussy with jerseys and most of mine are AliExpress jobs. Prefer to spend the cash on decent bib shorts where I can feel the difference!
