Whilst prepping my bike for tonight's hillclimb I noticed the rear wheel bearings were rough again so swapped in a new set. On closer inspection I noticed a crack through one of the spoke holes on the rear hub. It will do for a couple of hillclimbs but then it's coming off as I've a weekend on the bike at Hawes YHA. Have emailed some pictures to Planet X to see what they say since they are their own branded product and covered by a 2 year warranty which I'm only 13 months into.

You are eating the hub nicely too. Surely that's going back though.

Good luck, it's took over three weeks to get mine sorted with them. Fingers crossed the new wheels should arrive today. If like mine they'll get you to package them up and get you to send them back for a warranty inspection ( i sent photos in first). EDIT: it appears the status is 'Your order is ready to be shipped'. Over all yet again poor customer service from PX.

I don't use PX anymore I must admit - used them once, terrible service - never again

Got a reply from Planet X asking me to package them up so they can arrange to be collected. I've already been here before as originally I bought some RS11 wheels from them which cracked through the spoke holes on both rims multiple times. These AL30 wheels were a replacement for them as all they would offer me was a credit note for the full value of the RS11 wheels. No doubt another credit note will be offered some time down the line. Going to fit another set of RS11 I already have after tonight's hillclimb as I'm off on a tour for the weekend and then I may well try the new Superstar Components wheels I have. Always have a good spares holding me.

Hope you get them sorted out quicker than i have!
Looks like mine have now been shipped. On a side note they're selling them with 16% off at the min so Β£499 instead of Β£599, just gald they've replaced them as i wasn't looking forward to buying a new set.

Wheels were collected by Planet X courier today. See what happens and when. Be happy with a replacement set but they don't seem to sell them any more.

Make sure you chase them up, they'd had mine a week and not contacted me so i rang them up. They were checked the next day and agreed to replace them once the stock came in. Once in stock i spoke to them again and was promised they would be sent out that day...you guessed it, they wasn't! They were shipped the following day and arrived at 8:20, i only open the office up about 8:40 usually

Planet X are now suggesting they rebuild my rear wheel onto a new hub. Now given that my wheel has 24 spokes and the proposed new hub has 32 I see a potential problem in addition to it being a non-matching and heavier hub. I've told them the wheel really isn't worth rebuilding as in addition to the crack on the hub there are cracks forming around multiple spoke holes on the rim too.
I've asked if they no longer sell the AL30 wheelset as it's no longer on their website and stated that I need a semi-aero 30mm wheelset weighing circa 1,500g as I do a lot of hill climbing.

A full month has now passed and today Planet X have accepted my wheels are scrap. They no longer sell them either - so much for a 2 year warranty on own branded products which they were. I'm now being asked if there is a suitable alternative they do currently sell - which their isn't. I've suggested that the Vision Team 35 wheels they are currently selling their bikes with yet not listed for separate sale are close but a few hundred grammes heavier but failing that have requested a refund.
Been here before with the last lot of failed wheels and ended up with a credit note but that really won't be much use this time.

Today I finally received all my money back as a warranty claim. Let's just say I don't think I will be buying from Planet X again.
