@davefy7 territory I reckon, he's the grand tourer around here. He'll be along at some point although busy getting ready for his next outing so may have to wait a while for input.

Lots of lejog routes online. Just do a search, I've looked into it in fantasy planning moments. 60 miles a day would make a steady paced 2 week tour. I don't think there are any members who have ridden it, but be great to hear otherwise.

got one route we are booking place to stay That was quick. IMHO.... The main advice I would give is keep well away from main roads. I see loads of LEJOG/JOGLE tourers heading down/up the A6 around here and often wonder what the heck they are touring along there for when there are excellent quiet local roads that could be used. If I was doing it I would plan my route and ensure I could easily follow it no matter what the weather without having to revert to main roads. I think a lot of tourers chug along the main roads for ease of navigation. Routing wise, my preferred route would probably be via the Scottish Islands and the west coast of Ireland. The normal UK routing is not a tour that really appeals to me (at the moment) when there is such an abundance of riches abroad to be discovered, more often than not on much quieter roads. Are you definitely cycling from North to South? Just thinking about prevailing winds. Have a good un.

Try this routing website out, col. Designed by a tourer and very good indeed. cycle.travel/mapSome people follow established routes but I usually knock my own up.
