What sizes is the cassette? It would be much cheaper to get a wider range cassette than potentially messing around with chain rings.

The rear derailleur will handle a Tiagra 12-30 cassette, cheapest option for you.

Many thx for comments , I've ordered a new cassette now. But are not smaller chain rings available then for alur 700?

No, it's limited by the bolt circle diameter of the compact chainset (if the ring was smaller there'd be nowhere to bolt it to)

I was in Granada recently ( triban3owners.freeforums.net/post/91758), and use a compact 34/28 as well. I did spend most of my time in the lowest gear (34 & 28), but was comfortably sitting and spinning. There was very little that got me out of the saddle and mashing, maybe the odd hairpin ramp here and there. The rest of the climbing has a consistent gradient, nothing anywhere near as steep as we have in the UK. I don't know how fit you are, but if you're fit enough to want to attempt those mammoth climbs then you'll probably find you'll be okay with the 34/28.
