Nasty r0b1et. Best tip I can give is to not mess about with dressings once the bleeding has stopped and just cover the affected areas with Vaseline as often as you can. Difficult over night or at work but shorts at other times should be doable.

Difficult over night or at work but shorts at other times should be doable. As long as it's warm, I can wear shorts at work too. Another benefit of academia.

Yet one more example how the armour of lycra we cyclist adorn is pretty poor in the protection game.
With all such injuries (as you well know) cleanliness is to the fore.
Wishing you a speedy recovery rob and safe return.

Nasty, what the hell did you do to get they to open you up that much? Broken hip replaced with artificial one. Also cracked collar bone and broken crash helmet.

It's Desperate Dan! Is your bike made from church railings too? Bet that tickled a bit. Don't you work in said hospital as well? Best of luck getting your claim sorted.

If the whole 'shaving legs is for road rash' theory is true, I will have to shave my arms in future.
No picture, but pretty clean considering it was done on a MTB trail. And nothing worth complaining about compared to most on here.
