I've got a T7 with the standard Tiagra group set. I've done about 2000 miles and since buying a turbo trainer I'm aware of a clunking coming through the pedals. It's happens every 6-10 revolutions or so and mainly in the big chain ring under load. I've checked both front and rear mechs and all gears are indexed fine. I'm a relatively fair weather rider and my bikes always clean and well lubed. I dont use a power wash. It seems a bit premature for the chain or bottom bracket.
It also happens when I ride on the rollers although I haven't noticed it out on the road.
Any ideas?

Take the chain off and turn the cranks and see if they are smooth. That should narrow down whether it might be the bottom bracket. I had a similar issue a few months ago and it turned out to be a duff link on my chain. One of the rivets wasn't flush and every few revolutions it clunked as it went through the front chainring.

@saxon which wheels do you have? Crunchy bearings on the standard wheels wont be heard on the road with wind noise but on a trainer or rollers will be loud. 2,000 miles is well over the odds for the factory chain on a T3a and I've no reason to suspect the one on the T7 is any different. Have you measured it? If its gone it will also have taken out the cassette. All the wear makes the pitch length longer so it doesn't seat where it should in the cogs and every now and then it will drop in the teeth under load and make a noise.

The transmission and wheels are different on the T7 to the T3a, but I agree it's worth checking the chain at that mileage anyway. I wonder about the bottom bracket as it's happening under load in the big ring. Hollowtech2 bottom brackets don't last as long as cartridge ones but at least are cheap and easy to replace.

Tripped the BB out and repacked it with grease. Seams a bit better but On my way! of the link in the chain feel a bit stiff so going to loosen them.
