Who has got one working on an Android phone running Jelly Bean 4.3 or later and using Strava? Looking to invest as the fast boys say its something I need to be looking at now so I don't keep shooting off and dropping them Not interested in iPhone or ANT+ but happy for you if that's your setup.

I've got the Wahoo strap connected up to my iPhone. I got the missus a cheap one for about Β£14 off eBay from China, again this works fine on an iPhone and it's meant to work on Android too.

Hand up here....I have. Polar H7 works fine. it also transmits on a separate frequency to my Polar watch which is mounted on the handlebars so I can see if I'm alive without turning the phone screen on. Very infrequently the H7 will lock up which requires a battery pull and a 30 second fitting to the strap sans battery to reset it. I also have this: uk.cellphoneshop.net/bikesensor.htmlIt also works with Strava..... Running a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 with Cyanogenmod 11 but no reason to think there'd be any problem with stock 4.3

I now have an i-gotU Bluetooth 4.0 heart rate strap with matching speed and cadence sensor. Worked faultlessly on their first outing today running the Strava Android application on my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE on stock 4.3 firmware.

Worked faultlessly on their first outing today running the Strava Android application on my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE on stock 4.3 firmware. Would be interested to know how the battery held up as I have an S3 LTE on the same version software and am considering ditching the separate bike computer if I can get it all in one via the phone. Also are you able to record activity in Strava without the gps e.g. turbo trainer? I know I can do a manual entry but would like to record speed, cadence and effective distance while on the turbo

RobP tonights ride was 1 hour 18 minutes and my fully charged S3 LTE dropped from 100% to 88%. GPS was on and I selected airplane mode to turn off the cellular radio then re-enabled Bluetooth for the heart rate monitor and speed and cadence sensor. Seems like it could log a fairly long ride if its linear.

Thanks RocketHave found the i-GotU speed cadence sensor for Β£28 delivered HEREIs that a good price?. Would still be interested to know if you are able to measure speed, cadence, virtual distance via Strava when on the turbo if you know at all?

RobP I don't think the Strava application will do anything unless it senses GPS movement as it currently does not support Bluetooth distance sensors, only cadence, heart rate and power meter. It might work with the auto-pause disabled but I'm not at home near my static bike for a test. Could be wrong. There is however an i-gotU Android application that has a virtual ride facility that may be of interest. It states it can export .gpx and .tcx files and it will use the speed sensor. On tonights ride of 1 hour 20 mins I left the cellular radio on as well as the required GPS and Bluetooth and my battery drained from 74% to 61% so still looking really good. Β£28 delivered is currently the best price I can find the speed/cadence sensor for. There are others cheaper like Coospo on AliExpress but you want it now rather than in a months time and we know this one definitely works with an S3 LTE.

RobP another one to try is the Wahoo Fitness application. It works perfectly well with my other brand Bluetooth 4.0 sensors and you can tell it to use the wheel sensor for speed and distance. It also supports trainer rides indoors. I am going to trial it on a real ride tomorrow as it may solve the problem I have with Strava not noticing I've stopped and so adding time to my rides and lowering my bangin' averages. It has a neat feature to sync rides to Strava once configured. I can run Strava at the same time as a backup. Be real annoyed if I lose ride data but got to try something else as Strava no longer fits my needs. Watch this space...
