You could get a nice new set of Deda bars, then maybe get a new frame then... But you can't get any more red than a T3... You can add redness though.

How's the change to a compact double and benefits of sora? Thinking of doing the same.

How's the change to a compact double and benefits of sora? Thinking of doing the same. Sora has been great. 95% faultless with the 5% only relating to the rear mech barrel adjuster needing a twist from time to time and have the occasional ghost shift. The proper STI shifters are a vast improvement over the old thumb shifters. I'm still undecided about compact. I like having the double up front compared to the triple as I could never get it set right to avoid the chain rubbing on the front mech. I definitely ride in the big ring more now but haven't fully worked out the ratio's so often find myself spinning too fast when flicking down to the 34. It will come with time.

As a general rule, unless there is a big change in gradient, I will click down two on the cassette before dropping to the small ring. An example 50-21 in the big ring drop down to 34-17, to keep the ratios fairly close. If it was only for a short rise I would stick to the big ring in 50-24.

That excess steerer is starting to annoy me.

Ah you went for the Mich Pro 4 then? How you finding them? Mine are on standard rims and feel pretty good! Your wheels will be a fair upgrade on mine!

I've been using the Pro 4's for a while now and they have been flawless. 2 punctures in 5000 miles and one of those was a freak. The other was fairly recent on the front which is now quite worn. I can recommend them 100%. I am going to buy a set of Lithion's and another set of Pro 4's as well.

Now with r501's and a clean chain. You'll rub that chain away one day if you keep cleaning it. Bike looks well.

I think my t3 has reached the end of it's life. Riding the Cannondale just brings home the fact that the t3 is considerably too big for me. I feel miles above the road and a little gangly. I'm moving house next week and won't really have much room for 2 bikes. Ideally I'd sell the frame and fork for a few quid and keep the groupset in order to build up a new winter bike (maybe even another triban) but it would likely be a hard sell so I might consider selling the whole bike.
Decisions decisions.
