Shimano 105 5750 10 Speed Double Groupset | Chain Reaction Cycles www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/shimano-105-5750-10-speed-double-groupset/rp-prod115117Hi all been a while since making a post but have remained a daily 'reader'. I've been contemplating the n+1 rule and looking at upgrading to carbon, though im now leaning towards a new groupset instead mainly due to budget - im led to believe that an upgrade to full 105 would transform my trusty steed and potentially be all the bike I'll ever need! Chain reaction have this (although out of stock at the moment, they will deliver when avaliable mid july), im guessing its compatible other than an adapter for the braze on front derailleur being needed? And they are offering extra 10% off brining it in at Β£291 qhat do you think - worth it? Any advice appreciated.

If you have 'bike cash' go for it.

I put a 105 groupset on my T3 about 6 weeks ago, and don't regret it for a moment: it shifts very well indeed. It's an excellent upgrade. I also enjoyed fitting it; if you do that, just take yr time - I did it at a very leisurely pace, taking time here and there over about 3 days and using Youtube vids, webpages and the shimano techdocs as guidance. I had to use the braze-on adapter - very easy to fit and use.

Great deal for the full 105 group. I upgraded my red T3 with a mix of Tiagra & 105 (plus Shimano RS11 hoops) at the start of the year, after wearing out pretty much all the old components. Worth every penny, the bike's been a joy to ride ever since. The old 2300 drivetrain is solid budget kit, but the difference in component quality, feel & function is massive.
It's certainly put my aspirations for a new full-carbon bike on hold for a bit - there's really no need until I can get my riding to a higher level, I currently run out of talent well before I reach my T3's limits...

I upgraded my T3A recently with Centos/105 mix and the difference is amazing - everything is sooooo smoooooooth. As LanterneRouge says - change worth every penny. Bu sure to buy cranks & cassette in size that will fit your needs

Hi guys cheers for the thoughts and advice, think im going to go ahead and do the deal on this before the sale ends tomorrow, my existing crank is 172.5 so was going to select that length and go for the 50/34 on the front and 11/28 on the rear. This I must admit is a bit foreign to me will it suit my riding? Im reasonably fit and usually ride around average 20 milers on varying gradients (mainly flat though with the occasional steep sections) was just clicking 'buy' now I wonder if its suitable Arrragh!

I'd think it'll be fine - the low range (34f/28r) isn't that different to the 30f/25r from the standard setup, & if you're pretty fit to start with, chances are you don't spend a lot of time on the Granny ring anyway.
I went for a 12/27 cassette to try & keep smallish gaps between ratios and haven't (yet!) regretted no longer having the same low range.

You need a clamp on front derailleur might wait then and see what comes about, thr new 11 speed 105 is available on Chain Reaction (with dura ace/ultegra looking crank) for only a few pounds more, and by looks alone its far nicer with other added benefits im sure. Though I dont think my R501s are compatible with an 11 speed cassette - anyone know if its possible to squeeze on an 11?
