Could those members who have paid for the premium features possibly give a write up on if they think it's worth it please? What do you get access to over and above the free version that you use?

I've currently got a free trial and the features I most use are the separation of segments by weight and age classes, just handy for my competitive nature to see how I compare like for like with others! Another handy thing which I've used, but not put into practise is the ability to download other users' routes as a .gpx so if I see a ride I like the look of I've saved it for use on my mio at a later date. I also like the greater stats available for my HRM and estimated power zones as it shows me what heart rate zones I'm riding in and whether I should be pushing harder or slacking off.
For the £6ish a month (current exchange rates) I'd happily pay it after the trial and there's probably a load more features I've not yet discovered (I think on the app you can see who of your friends is out riding and where and live segment placements like a time trial clock but not sure).

I had it for a while, it's OK but in reality there's not much to learn that will improve your cycling performance, entertainment is fine though.

I always thought if I got premium, the main thing I would use is the heatmap function to see everywhere I've been. I was even at one stage merging gpx file together manually to show that but that became a bit onerous. However, then I found www.jonathanokeeffe.com/strava/map.php and that does exactly what I need. Some times there are free trials of strava premium available, but I haven't seen any lately.

I've not got it Rocket but a work colleague has. He has a Garmin 810 is proper geeky about stats, heart rates, cadences, zones etc so loves the ability to review and dig into the data with Strava Premium. Personally I think he'd better off riding more than studying the data but whatever floats your boat I suppose.

If you contact them and ask nicely, they may give you a free trial.. I popped a message on their support forum, and got reply/free trial within a few hours... Got to be honest, I've not subscribed now my trials ended - I mainly wanted it for live segments, and the additional info you get post ride - but the live segments (along with the new route following option) are next to useless without an option to prevent screen sleep, and the extra info wasnt that great - certainly not worth the monthly fee - imo...

I love strava, Now I have a three months free upgrade to pro version (so I can only tell wonderful things about strava ) www.strava.com/athletes/4134336In my humble opinion, here between friends, I can say that for my use, pro version it's not so usefull pro features are: Suffer Score the same as HR , imho Filtered Leaderboards It's only about to be the first out there, so.... Goals if I've a goal to do a performance in a segment it's useless to write in strava, but maybe it's motivating Power Analysis similar to HR x Km/h Fitness & Freshness Only for power meter users. Personal Heatmap Veloview does it Real-time Segments when I ride I don't look to my phone Active Friends nice, but I ride alone Training Videos by The Sufferfest UTube is your friend Trophy Case just for onanists Special month jersey are so cool... 110$... but maybe it's motivating all that values 60$ a year? my 0.1 £

I had a second free trial offer and never took it up - I didn't say that above for fear of being a bit of a party pooper but now you've made your conclusion it's worth saying. Oddly, the bit I liked the most was the computer voice on my phone telling me segment times live over my headphones - didn't have a clue if it was fast or slow half the time but it was kind of fun ... just not £6 a month kind of fun; now I use my Garmin so I wouldn't get it anyway.

It's £3.99 a month on the iphone, give it a go for a month, if you don't think it's worth don't pay the following month. That basically what i did and i've probably had it 12 months now, i'll be honest, i don't use all the features but i don;t miss £3.99 per month. I should probably just pay for the year as it does work out cheaper.
