Made my first visit to decathlon today, money in pocket to get a red triban bit they don't have my size (54) and said they will unlikely have anymore in coming in so poo pooed my plan.
I now have a budget of Β£250, that really is my ceiling apart from delivery of course, to find another option.
I really don't want 2nd hand as I like the warranty and the thought that no ones abused it before me.
so with a 250 budget what would you recommend for a complete novice with minimal use to start with ?
thanks in advance

Probably another 6 months of saving up to be honest, the t3 red at 250 was a last comers special price, those bikes are no more You won't get much for your budget to be fair, nothing like the quality of that offer so if you want new you'll probably need to save a bit otherwise you are into false economy, looks great on the face of it territory, not good, stay away from budget bike!

I was in the same position as you just over a month ago @matteo26. I really wanted the red T3 in the same frame size as yourself. I considered 2nd hand but in the end I pushed the budget that little bit further and purchased the white T3a.
OK so it doesn't have carbon forks, its Β£50 more to buy and therefore less of a bargain but I am more than happy with my purchase.
You could always post in the wanted section of this site to see if one comes up in your area. I know you don't want 2nd hand but if you know it's been looked after it may be the next best option should budget not stretch that extra bit.

Dont know where you are in the country but they seemed to have loads of the smaller frame Red T3 in the Reading store last weekend, can your local store get one transferred?
