Keep as is but name change to 'BTWIN Owners Club (Formerly Triban Owners Club)'. So that people with the newer bikes can find the forum. Forums do not work in the hands of companies/ brands/ stores whatever. The moderators get brutal and it turns into just a darn publicity thing mainly. It would be nice to see a little backing from Decathlon or BTWIN in one way or another. Discount code for members, organized rides, the odd competition, something for the moderators, I don't know. This forum no doubt plays a part in the rising BTWIN popularity in this country. Popular on Google etc. Oh and this the only cycling forum I've ever seen that every thread does not turn into an internet fight. Lets not ruin it. I don't even have a Triban anymore, but prefer this forum for help, questions etc. Really good point about discussions not turning into an internet bun fight, you see a lot of abuse on other sites.

Given that everyone has so eloquently given the same viewpoint as myself, I'd just like to add a reinterpreted quote from ol' shakey: "What's Triban Owners Club? it is nor hand, nor foot, Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part Belonging to a man. O, be some other name! What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet; So Triban Owners Club would, were it not Triban Owners Club call'd, Retain that dear perfection which it owes" In all seriousness, as much as it is the Triban that brought us all first together & I'll always be a T3 enthusiast, I'm all in favour for change if it adds to the longevity of this place (and any perks that B'TWIN might throw our way from a continued affilation with them/Decathlon). I'd like to add some stores in Leeds & Durham wouldn't go amiss if you're reading this guys !

Yep - No dilution too much please. Name change obviously makes sense. Keep it road biased and Fun. The banter is just right. Bicycle Shaped Object owners will not be joining forums so I don't think we need to worry about that. Mountain bikers have Singletrackworld to talk about cars on.
There is a certain enthusiasm you get with specialist groups. Decathalon's Facebook presence is pretty amatuer and lazy at times "Which jumper do you prefer?" getting 4 responses for example. So I don't think it's wise to hand it over to them.
And what they all said above!

changing the name im not sure on but as people here are moving on to carbon and other make bikes maybe the triban owners club has to move with the times and become the Btwin owners club to include all btwins be it alloy or carbon road bikes.

Just like many others here I found this forum when researching my possible T3 purchase. What I found was unlike many other forums dedicated to cycling in general. A genuinely friendly welcome from like minded individuals Help, expert advice and encouragement A complete lack of attitude or judgement towards those of us not turning in imperial century's every week (any ride is good) As for the poll options either of the first two suits me. It would be nice to see owners of the newer road models join when they become available and if a name tweek/adjustment/change helps facilitate that then I am more than happy with that as long as the forum remains somewhere not tied/owned/controlled by a global company I like the free and easy simplicity here and the site has become my first stop every night when I boot up the laptop. So to summarise please keep the ethos / attitude and do whatever the majority agrees about the name

Following the comments from the members and the poll added to this thread I have made the decision and as you will see, the forum is now known as the B'TWIN Road Bike Owners Club. Now the hard work begins! Unfortunately the URL will remain the same. I could change it but it would cost and since I'm a tight arsed Yorkshireman it int 'appenin!!! When I find time...... Going to bed in a minute! I will make alterations to the boards to reflect the new title. I will probably need some help with regard to a new banner to include the B'Twin insignia and new title please if anyone is up to it? Let's see how it goes folks. If it doesn't seem right we can always change it back to TOC.

It'll be fine, simple banner with the capital text version of B'TWIN and the other stuff in lower case of a well chosen style should do it - 'Triban Owners' are still part of it, always will be and are of course the founder members, except now it will be fine for Alur, FC, Mach owners etc. as well ... it's the way ahead. Takes us out the future model name issue debate totally, no worries there now except for personal opinions on model names (which we can discuss at length of course) ... B'TWIN are now free to name the bikes any way they please without effecting the owners forum - we will most likely always be 'Triban Owners' in this house whatever the future brings, as the small white one will work for no.1 son for a while yet and then the daughter, it can even be set for the Mrs in a 'compact' sort of way (but she simply says I'm not having a go on that saddle at the mo ). I can see the red 3 simply staying here forever whatever n+1 brings, it is such a functional bike. The move is pretty liberating, bit of a weight off actually.

Thanks for the backing Rads. I just hope it suits all. We worked hard to get the forum to the top of the Google search for Triban Owners. Let's hope B'TWIN Road Bike Owners gets up there too.

It'll still come up in the searches I'm sure, build it and they will come . The B'TWIN Village and crew on both sides of La Mer are an impressive set up, one that I have no issues whatsoever in wearing the colours / kit from, particularly now we've got a bit more informed, happy to go with their logo etc. if simple and discrete, nothing to do with marketing, it's just pretty cool (well some of it anyway ) - also will continue to wear my classic TOC kit as well, it looks sufficiently 'cycling' to hold its own alongside my Cancellara-esque Fassa Bortolo etc. !

Excellent news, if Steph wants to continue with the header image, cool, if not I'll have a look at it when I can.

Excellent news, if Steph wants to continue with the header image, cool, if not I'll have a look at it when I can. An idea, generally monotone is en vogue but the race logo on the Alur frame has snook into my psyche, perhaps take a look at the UCI Logo / World's / Rainbow Jersey style banding for inspiration maybe, simple rainbow band (done minimally) would lighten things up a bit - international feel to it as well. Just an idea of course though.
