Here's one for you graphic designer types...
Show me a white T3a with red T3 forks fitted so we can see how nasty it looks please.

Just trying to keep you IT bods busy while its raining Not a 5 min job on my tablet either. It's going to be faster and look OK to me. Maybe even better than the grey steel forks which don't look good in my opinion but do the job.

I think they'll work fine and be OK whatever they look like of course but a rub down and a bit of spray is not a major job, could be done at any point as dropping the forks out is easy, taking the crown off them is the trickiest thing (from recent headset experience) - working on the principle that we can keep upgrading these things in a smart and uncompromised way ... it's what I'd do if I changed the forks on the lad's bike here but not imperative. I was looking at the Planet X R501 deal today and if it had a 650cc option I'd have got him some. Nothing wrong with the 3a, it has the same potential as the original 3 and catching up with the current 5 IMO, except the shifters are already better than the original T3. Edit: Link put up by the folks on bargain alert thread: www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/WPSHOEM501/shimano-r501-c24-clincher-wheelset

As they're painted anyway a quick rub to key the surface for paint to bind to would be ok, but I wouldn't go sanding back all the paint incase you hit carbon, don't want to be sanding any of that off.

Thank you jondxxx. That looks sweet and really fast. I will have no trouble finding my bike at a TOC meeting once the deed is done.

Reckon that's a possibility after some serious wear but I'd go powder coat and have talked to two local places, fairly affordable but only justified if your frame is beat up.

You can have any colour you like (within reason) ! 1, Tribans should be Red! 2, Red might match the fork?
