quite expensive to just have .bike on the end
tribanownersclub.co.uk is only something like Β£7 for 2 years, much more reasonable
Shame proboards charge $14 per year to use your own domain, not much point getting one unless we're on our own website.

I yeah and if we did it would be the old charge for membership or sponsors but we are not going that way!

Do you think it's transferable say someone leaves and passes on to another member. Or do you think they would have to re apply

Now you're getting it - having run business tech for both medium and small businesses, plus a club or two, experience tells me these things are never quite as simple as you'd hope. Big Brother set it up, I help him of course, then there's the responsibility and commitment plus collective wishes of members. The ones who speak up don't always represent everyone. If it ain't broke don't fix it IMO but would go with majority flow. It has been suggested that Triban brand may eventually fall off the end of the conveyor belt.

Proboards don't allow you to transfer out any data, posts, members, etc
If we decided we did want our own website I would be able (and happy) to set one up and host it for us free of charge, already have access to a server to put one on. But this forum seems to be working quite well for us at the moment so there isn't any particular need to move just yet.
