I restored the T3 to it's original stock config. and sold it on eBay as I was never going to use it again. Over several rides on the Sport a couple of minor problems with the bar tape have become increasingly annoying so I had to redo it, not that I'm obsessive or anything. Also wanted to replace the seat post on another bike which was a good excuse to fit a Planet X carbon one to this bike. Especially as they were going cheap for a while a few weeks ago. Probably all done for now except for replacing worn bits unless any bargains come my way. The bike now weighs in at a shade under 10Kg with the not very light gatorskins on. I believe the same size T3 or 500SE comes in at about 10.7 from stock.

The Italian built bikes may be okay but the originals were made in France. And the real classic logo is lower case.

I bought a T540 as a bit more of a general purpose bike than the Sport 1. The stock spec. is such that no upgrades are really needed. The 110 mm standard stem was a bit too long so I have fitted a 90mm Deda Zero 2 along with some SKS Bluemels Olympic Racer Mudguards. Both items from Halfords in one of their 10% off flash sales with a further fiver as a multi-buy saver. Along with the stem I also installed some carbon spacers. Okay so the Crankset isn't 105 but the finish is suitably discrete so it's not obvious. works well enough too I'd be surprised if that's not a Hollotech II BB Plenty of mudguard clearance. These are the 35mm version and should be good fro tyres up to 28mm. The fitted tyre sre the usual Hutchinson Equinox 25s. The pedals are Btwins own brand dual purpose offering. It looks like this model is now only offered on-line in size S.

Nice, the 35mm mudguards look and fit so much better than the 42mm ones stocked by Decathlon.
