I agree with the right to choose (if it's not a legal requirement) - a small fall could be had by slipping on ice on the pavement. Everything in perspective eh?

Got used to always wearing a helmet when I was still in Oz, was compulsory in the ACT. Still do now though I like the fact it is a choice here.

A friend of mine moved to Oz and found that it was compulsory and he didn't like racing helmets as it didn't fit with his style (he rode around Sydney on a Schwinn Cruiser) so he bought one similar to this of 'That Ebay'

yup - always. Saw the state of my mate after he'd been through the back window of a police car(!) which was illegally parked round a blind bend (!!) while the driver was taking a call on his radio(!!!)
He was less than a mile from home, and the ambulance got to him quickly.

I think it's silly argument not to wear one - even if you are riding on the pavement! You are only on two wheels in a balancing act!

Captain logic strikes again, thought I'd wind someone up with my 99% . You can of course think what you want though Whitestar1 and technically you're right, no grey areas in that stance ... when are you going to start wearing one whilst walking, when it rains or just when the temp reaches zero ?

Tempted to put helmet, arm and knee pads on the girlfriend when temp reaches zero. She's a danger to herself

will use a helmet if im on the road which is most of the time, if its a very short journey (10 mins or less) then i tend not to bother.
