Hmm. The juries out on them I'm afraid. Don't like the matt finish on the T5. Saddle looks comfy though! As for the T3. Just can't forget the idea that they've dropped the carbon forks. Think it's a bad decision by B'Twin. The current T3 is selling as fast as Decathlon can stock them. They've got a winner, why change something that works? Just glad I'm rolling on a red 'un.

Very very happy with my Red One! She won't be going anywhere soon (but do like the limited view of the new t5a ).

I like the colour of the 5a - would like to see the whole bike though. The 3a is a little confusing, on the bright side, if the white colour is on top of a white base then the scratches will show less. With the fork removal I presume they are just trying to get down to as low a price as possible to make the bike more accessible to all, which is not a bad thing but given you can save £20 in your first week of cycling with a bit of dieting and alcohol avoidance I don't really follow - the original 3 is great as a starter set up, knowing you can upgrade over time with a solid base of a frame to work off. I am happy with my 'legendary red 2011/12 Triban 3' but onto the 5a - if the chain set is still better, road pedals are still standard (they could even offer a choice of road or MTB style) and knocking it back a £100 less has not meant any major cutbacks, it makes choosing much harder (between the old 3 and the new 5a). If buying in a few months it will be a nice choice to ponder on though but the jury is still out as Captain OTD says; the final spec's will need a close looking over IMO. If the wheels were better I might have even gone up a bit on the initial spend i.e. to original £500 price mark, if they had something special on - I do wonder, as many owners are upgrading wheels anyway, why they couldn't offer a bike with better wheels in place from the off (they must have major purchasing clout to be able to do this?). www.decathlon.co.uk/F-10950-wheel-and-accessories - I note they've got Mavics at circa £145 - but no wheels of quality somewhere around £100, so it looks like their own standard stock can't deal with this request; I wonder how hard it would be to tackle that - if was working at Decathlon I would be asking if it was possible. Interesting to see where they are pitching them in the price scales, the fact that they're being selective on what images they release is curious and where they'll eventually rest at the actual point of release is something to keep an eye on with interest.
