First time going down a steep hill with wet wheels today. Those brake blocks have to go!!!! Pulling hard on both levers works well as a laxative but has very little effect on the speed of the bike!!!

It's always been dry on my too rare rides out. Never experienced wet road riding as yet on the T3. Lots of hills round here so steep hills are unavoidable. Had no real issues with dry roads as yet but thanks for the heads up regarding wet roads. I'll know to allow plenty of braking time.
Anybody else had braking problems in the wet?

Not me, they seem to work fine, however they seem to be wearing very quickly leaving crumbly black residue everywhere.

My brakes were a bit heartstopping in the wet too.......but don't forget road cantilevers are never quite going to have the leverage of V-Brakes or the wet weather grab of discs. I went to my LBS to buy some new blocks and for little more than the cost of new blocks and cartridges bought the last of his stock 'old' Sora brakes and 2 pairs of 'Clarks' triple compound pads that just slide in to the existing Shimano compatable cartridge holders.
Do they stop much better? Well the difference isn't remarkable! But the new brakes are very smooth and I am getting used to them more and more.
At about the same time I put some new 'Koolstop' Salmons on my MTB and they were a revelation. Salmons are available as cartridge inserts so reckon this is about as good as you could hope for...especially in mucky weather?

Aztec have a good rep.........as do Koolstop, Clarks and many others.
Most will be 'better' than the ones that come with the T3 in all probability.............but even these are better than some!
Steer clear of cheap 'all-in-one' solutions. (Although my Koolstop MTB pads are terrific) . I've had pukka Shimano all in one brake pads that were not as good as the TRiban effort!

I don't really touch my breaks, as most of the hills I've ridden down to date have been remote and car less ... I resent scrubbing off well earned altitude and like a bit of speed, so I'm likely in for a shock when I do need to use them ... any links to best price sources on suggestions folks please?
