I've got wireless speed/wired cadence computer from Tesco. They're a bargain £10 at the moment. I've managed to run the cable to the cadence sensor neatly and can live with in, especially with the big cost saving. I've had it for 2 months, and wouldn't be without cadence now. I stick to around 90 when cruising along, and spin 100-110 ( I can spin faster, but go faster in a higher gear) when sprinting. Sticking to this rule I have got faster. In addition the computer has other lines on display, including time, average speed etc

My first was the Sigma 1609 sts its wireless. It worked for me. Never got the cadence sensor for it. Now I only use it on my MTB after 2 years of use so I have gotten my money out of it. 2 years is a long time for a bike computer.

On that note, does anyone know if the Ant+ speed/rate sensor that Decathlon sell will work with the Count 8 computer? I was thinking of getting one as it has a nice big display but would like one that also displays cadence.
Don't know if anyone has any experience of this product?

I've got the count 8 and it doesn't work with it because the count 8 isn't Ant+ you'll need to buy the count 14+ for that.

I prefer wired, one less battery to have to replace and I've read that many models suffer interference from other wireless computers eg if you are riding in a group. Mind you that Tesco one sounds a bargain for £10, and with cadence too. May have to check it out.
Have you considered the new GPS ones? They can be had for around £100 but log your position so you can plot your route and see your total climb rate etc? Or if you have a smartphone, buy a bike mount for it and download one of the free apps like endomondo or sportstracker.

I can recommend the Count 14+. Have had it around a month and really glad I went for one. I was initially going to go for a cheap wired one but the idea of wires running along the frame (running it and the way it would end up looking) made me decide to go for wireless. I read many reviews on similar units and there are plenty of cheap(er) wireless units but like I say I ended up going for the Count 14+ because I like to keep it Btwin and the quality. You may get problems on cheaper units because they normally use analogue sensors hence prone to interference. The Count 14+, not sure about others in the range, uses digital coded 2.4Ghz ANT+ technology. This should mean no interference problems and more so compatibility with other devices (from all manufacturers). e.g. I'm looking at getting a heart rate strap. Also Count14+ has geonaute logging built in so you can download the software and sync with a pc. Track all types of stats and present in different ways. Really good at seeing your improvement. Have a look at @arny5triban post with all the specs. GPS unit may also interest you as mentioned.

Managed to get down to tesco before heading out for the day . They only had a standard wired one for £7 but nipped online to find what I think is the right one which is now £15 & called activequipment . It doesn't actually say cadence on the site but has 17 functions ! Have been looking at various units from catseye /sigma to garmin ( mega bucks ) just thought cadence might be handy , thanks for all your help .

Had a count 4 but it was faulty so took it back & have been looking ever since . Are the buttons on the 14 the same as the 4 because I found them really difficult especially with gloves on ?
