I saw a few near misses where the "casual" riders were pulling out all over the place, the worse was when some lady went from the far left all the way over to the right hand side of the road to yell to her mate coming the other way

That's a hard crash goffski! I only saw the ambulance on the road once and saw them putting someone in on a stretcher and that was on the other side of the road. Then another as I can in from the finish line.

Just seen this on twitter, didn't actually see any crashes but saw the aftermath of a few. The wife witnessed one and the guy was going mad! need to put this picture in the inevitable weekly thread that asks if the 3a is any good despite not having a carbon fork i would be going radio rental at that, im presuming it is the result of some stupid bike cutting across or some such

if there is a positive from this its that the carbon will take most of the force protecting the rest of the frame, I had a head on many moons ago with a steel fork, bent the frame very bad

I have to drive 90 miles so doubt that I would have the strength to do the 52 miles but this is one event I will be attending annually.

As you can see not got the hang of the quote thingy yet lol . I think you are right whitey, that's what I told a couple afterwards. He wanted to do the 52 being a regular cyclist, & she getting back into it wanted to stick with the 26. Think I just got carried away. . See you next year then matey .

Note well be a BC member, then we can start together. I had a look at the Reg Harris sportive but it's just too far for me to try it. I have the Wolverhampton event September so that will have to do.

Sorry bout the late reply whitey , been out with the family . Yes a Meet up would be nice . I'll have a look at any events that would be In between , say Nottingham / leicester way if you are interested . The Ron Harris looks a bit of a grueller mate . What's the wolverhampton event all about ?
