When i was out on my T7 over the weekend, i foolishly forgot to reset my Garmin.
If you don't download the data or reset between rides, it automatically carries on from where it left off. The result is I have data for 2 rides combined into one.
Does anyone know how I can split the data?
Here's what i managed so far:
Upload the data to Garmin Connect export as a TCX, edit the TCX file split the data where the date changes delete the totals at the top of the file upload again.
The problem with this is that is loses lots of average data.
I guess i really need something that will recalculate this automatically.
Thanks

Sorted!
Turns out that TCX is a Proprietary Garmin Activity format and it contains details on totals, distance, time, etc plus averages at the top of the file. This data is calculated from all the data in the file.
This is not helpful as once its split and re-imported, the average data is 0!
So, the solution is to export as a plain old GPX file. This just contains the start date/time and the track points. So to split, simply cut the data out and paste into a new file, copy the header and top level xml elements, and make sure they are closed off at the bottom.
Then import and the averages are calculated for you!
Yay!
