Is your T3 "as bought" or have you made, shall we say, alterations? Had mine just over a month now. First job was to remove the tacky lights that came supplied. My first real upgrade will be some decent pedals to replace the godawful stock issue. Had a few hairy moments setting off only to struggle trying to get my left foot into the terrible toe clips! Whilst buying my bike in the holy place known as Decathlon I bought myself a few extras: bottle and cage, computer, mini lights, frame pump, small saddle pouch, spare tubes (Β£2.99 for 2 ) and a pair of black and red B'Twin gloves which so far keep my hands toasty. Shortly after buying I opted for a set of mudguards to keep myself and more importantly the bike nice and clean. Went for SKS long guards from Wiggle. Just Β£24.99. They were a real pain to fit but once on look brilliant and as far as full length guards go, very slim and discrete.

How did you get on with the original saddle? I found mine quite painful so took a trip back to Decathlon and bought myself a new one. I seem to be having slight issues with shifting gears.I have had various bikes in the past and managed to overcome this with little tweaks. I only purchased mine last weekend so im going to see if it settles with some use.

Hardly surprising though as I've only been on the road 3 times for very short "get to know the bike" rides. Me too. I think a bit of adjustment is required on mine. I seem to struggle with chain rattle and the chain jumping on the second to smallest rear sprocket when on the small front ring. I will be bringing it to the attention of the mechanic when I take the bike back for its' free service at Decathlon. Might take it back sooner as it appears to be a fault and should not count as the service!

Im not surprised that you have gear change issues while running in the smallest rear sprockets and smallest front chainring sprockets because the chain is running at too great an angle. I generally keep to the middle front chainring sprocket and run in the middle rear sprockets to keep the chain straight as poss. That gives me the ability to change front chainrings up or down quickly if I hit a hill either uphill or downhill

Ive fitted "crud" mudguards and I have fitted a rear rack and I commute and tour with Panniers. This bike seems like a great tourer. Im hoping to do some long tours on the T3 this year when the weather warms up a bit. Would love to do LEJOG this year on it if I can get the time.

My mistake oily. Meant to say small front and next to large back sprocket. You follow why I think it needs a coat of looking it now?

Guilty of spending, so far i have added 2xElite bottle cages (white), Bryton 50 GPS, Shimano 540 SPD-SL pedals.
Stuff i've changed to get it just to my liking, Carbon seatpost (ebay special), Sella X1 saddle in white (tried some others, but settled on this), white Giant bar tape, white Rodi Airline Evo wheels/Conti Gatorskin tyres, Shimano HG50 cassette + new KMC chain when i did the wheels and a Topeak aero wedge for tubes etc.
The bike gets used alot for club runs, and has been faultless for a year, only had to reindex the gears when I changed the wheels etc.
I must take some pitures, and put them up!
Thanks, Graham

Changed chainset on mine to shimano ultegra 6603 mainly to get the 53t top ring, also I like Hollowtech 11 B/B design. Also changed calipers to shimano 105 which was a mistake as the are heavier and IMO no better. Removed the clamp spacer on the steerer and replaced with some carbo ones, and added Shimano spd 520's and SKS commuter blades and White elite bottle cage. I ve got a White Selle Italia which will be going on soon and I m looking for a carbon seat post and stem. Has anyone found a 29.8mm carbon post, I think I m going to shim mine to 27.2 so I can change saddle and post between bikes. Also going to change Casette to HG5O and get some lighter tyres or wheelset. I m just a tart because to be honest the original bike is outstanding.

The seat post for the Triban is 27.2, what bike do you need to shim for, thats not a very common size?

So far ... Swapped the pedals for Shimano 105s, half price when I was in CRC one day. No unclipping fails to report so far. Changed the stem on my 57cm frame from the standard 100mm to a Ritchey 90mm one. Despite Decathlon's sizing charts, I probably would have been better getting a 54. Changed the seat to a Sella Italia Shiver. And just changed it tonight a Rido r-lt, as I've been having numbness problems. Next .... Conti 4 Seasons. Longer term .... Wheels. Possibly Planet X AL30s?

Sounds like you plan on keeping the T3 for some time to come stupot! Any problems with the standard Triban wheels yet? You may have read the hub issues thread so curious to see if you've had bother with yours yet.

No issues with the hubs so far. The rear wheel needs trued though. The bike's only done about 300 miles. I didn't check the wheels when I bought it, but fairly sure it came like that. Hopefully get it sorted during the free service.

I just changed wheelset to Shimano R501's with Shimano hg50 cassette and Kmc 8.93 chain stayed on original tyres, there giving me no probs at the moment done almost 1400 miles and just about to change brake blocks, at the moment its on a turbo trainer, to risky and cold out, i raised the front of the seat up abit as i was getting numb bum and its 100 times better, and Shimano Spd 520's and crud 2 mudgaurds. Im about to strip hubs down on original wheels as they sound really gritty wont know till strip down if knackered, especially the back, also raised the handlebars about a cm as they felt you were pointing downwards and feels loads better, more comfy.

I had my triban since September 2012 and I have added 1 chrome elite bottle cage and put a shorter stem on.
