Sad to see this bike no longer being sold by Decathlon. I know they wanted a change but I'm not keen on the heavier replacements, even with disc brakes.

I know how you feel, i was after one but i settled with an Ultra 500 AF GF, but i am pleased with it, still got to fettle it a bit, more so on the price, Β£599 down from Β£899, the colour does not stand out to well but it will keep my old legs spinning.

The constant chopping and changing is a bit irksome. There seems to be too much confusion within the B'TWIN/Triban/Van Rysel range. For me:
1. The rebrand to drab colour schemes seems a bit counter intuitive. 2. The BTwin range had too many bikes that were similar. A range of budget, mid range/mid range disc (gravel), sporty/sporty disc, top range/top range disc would be more than enough. 3. Another way of doing it would be a build your own based upon Triban, Gravel or VR frame with component options. But maybe that is more expensive for Decathlon?
Anyway, I really love my blue, black & pink Ultra 940 CF Di2 and can't see past it (unless a similarly spec disc option came on the scene)

Hi everyone. I had a triban 3a years ago, sold it but always missed the Triban feel and decided to get involved again back last year.
I managed to get a s/h medium size flat bar 520 from a local cash converters for Β£130 and bought it hoping to fit drops and appropriate sti shifters to it.
Of course the next week a drop bar 540 appeared on Facebook marketplace in nice condition but in a small size. So bought that for Β£270 I think, and then transferred all the running gear between the 2 bikes with the 80mm stem as well.
So I now had a 520 drop bar with 540 running gear and vice versa.
Sold the lesser specd bike for a 40 quid profit . Had to replace a bottom bracket and shifter cables on both bikes.
Bit of indexing on the rear derailleur and all was good. Only scare was when old cable snapped off inside the 5700 shifter but there is a little panel you can unscrew which allows very easy access.
So all is well, only wish I was as fit as I was back in the old days.
