I was thinking of getting a Triban 540 before they disappear, but have just noticed that the 520 AF GF has been reduced, and it looks an interesting bike for the money; SRAM Rival compact, full hydro disc brakes and approx 8.5 kg I was wondering whether anybody had experience of this bike; and/or SRAM hydro disc brakes - they sound impressive, but having never used/setup discs, let alone full hydros, I was wondering how much of a faff they were?

Hi, just noticed the question. I got them (Hydro Rival set up) on a different bike. There's nothing to set up - once they bed in, they just work. Until then, on occasion you might need to re-center calipers (10 sec job, literally). whole Rival group set is very decent - if I wanted to start a war here , I'd probably say it's the most sensible group ever offered on Decca bikes. If you go for AF-GF don't forget about the wheels - between them and a group set, you will already get your money's worth.

Thanks utriban, I was able to find a shop with both the 540 & the 520 AFGF in my size, and the 520 AFGF was a noticeably better bike - so I bought it.
I was also able to use my Cyclescheme voucher, which must make it a contender for Bicycle Bargain of the Year
