As per the audax thread: And since I only need 21 more 100k rides to get my Eddington number up to 100 (kms) then there is that as well (I should get that sometime between April-June).
As long as health holds up I should be good for 10,000km this year, so I guess next year overall target is the same.

Put short:
1) Get out more often 2) Sign up for at least one sportive (avoiding the silly prices that the Etapes now charge) 3) Buy a new bike (dependent on what Btwin release for 2018)

1. Maintain annual mileage over 5000 miles in the year (should be about that this year) 2. Get under 23:30 for 10 miles, maybe under 23. (Been just under 24 mins this year). 3. Do some cyclocross racing in the summer league and have some fun!!!
No. 1 and 3 most important to me, as lomg as don't get slower on TT then that would be ok.

At the moment my aim is just to get back on my bike once!! Havenβt ridden for over a month now and have completely lost all motivation for it. Cold/wet weather doesnβt help but also now add in fact it is bound to be tough and unenjoyable as Iβd have lost my fitness π Cycling in the rain can be really miserable, but dry cold days needn't be a problem with the right amount of clothing (multiple layers, tights, gloves, decent socks, shoe covers, etc.) Aim for a short ride to begin with. If you enjoy it, go for that length again. If you feel up to it next time, go out for a bit longer. I can't deny, it does take a bit more motivation to get out over winter, but I find once you do it, it's usually more enjoyable than you expected (four rides in the past week, and only one where I felt I was struggling a bit on the way back.) You can't control the rain so, just (yes, dress up warm) accept or prove the fact that you are at one with/better than nature! The perfect ride is not out there so get enjoyment out of any part of the ride you can.

1. I want to continue to ride as much as possible. (I fear that my cycling may fizzle out as I return to day working in March) 2. I want to ride overseas. But I have noone to do it with! 3. I would like to discover Wales now one of my sons is at uni there, but I have no firm plans. 4. I've signed up for a London to Paris event. But it may not happen.

I've just renewed my membership to audax UK. So hope to complete a super raddoneur series.
I've also paid up to veloviewer, with the aim of playing the Explorer tile game. I've already increased my square from 7 to 10, though to complete many of the tiles near me, I'll need to take hiking boots out on rides. I used to love hiking, and looking forward to enjoying it again (and I will be cycling to get to the walks).
Will be a slow start to the year though. I'm having a hernia operation on 15th January, so out of action for a while but is starting to get painful and needs sorting.

Don't feel my park and ride/walks tiling efforts are particularly noble, though many of them are around trips I'd be doing in the car anyway, such as the journey to and from work. Hope all goes well with the op in the New Year!

My wife gave me a years subsciption the British Cycling, as i had just got into cycling to get fit, and i had two goals, 1. Get a proper road bike. Done, bought a second hand red B'Twin (lower case)Triban 3. 2. Enter a Sportive. Just signed up to a 50 miler Spring Sportive with a couple of lads from work, just got to get out there and build my fitness and stamina up. www.norfolkcyclingevents.co.uk/phone/spring-classic-sportive.htmlJust got to get some decent Shorts or Bibs, any ideas or links welcome, had a look at my local Go Outdoors in Norwich, not a lot to inspire me, take it or leave it comes to mind, think i might have to encourage the missus to take a trip into Cambridge, lots of B'Twin branded stuff there i believe.
