After a couple of happy years enjoying my Triban 540 I have succumbed to carbon temptation and bought a (good) used Focus Cayo frame and had it built up with an ultegra / 105 mix. I've justified this mentally by converting my 540 back into the flat bar it was when I bought it and put on 32mm tyres - it's now my runaround / commuter / family cycles / light trail bike. Early days with the Focus but feels sweet to ride, but won't know for sure until I take it on a long one (and get my fitness back after a winter of sloth and over eating π

Another Cayo owner! We will need our own sub-forum soon lol . Enjoy your bike, I bought mine last year and love it. After putting away my 500SE for the summer I've really felt a lot faster jumping back onto this. PS- good luck with the white bar tape, mine lasted six months before I got fed up of cleaning it.

Thank you, have been out a few times now and loving it. Agree re white tape, already looking "off white", I'll probably replace before end of summer (thinking a blue tape that matches the blue in the frame?).
An aside, after my chain come off inside front ring and jammed. ... I'll check the fd limit screw but was thinking a chain catcher might be a belt and braces option but not sure which will work as the cayo has band on fd and seat tube widens near bottom bracket?

Hi, any chance you remember how the chain came inside the ring? On the FD up-shift or down-shift?

I was on a road I didn't know, was downhill in 50-11 when round corner I hit traffic lights. Quick stop required (nearly had an unclip incident) and quickly, via friction shifter, switched to 34t. So, yes, I found myself in 34-11 and probably hadn't pedalled enough for the fd drop to 34.
I've found a clamp on chain catcher from bikediscount.de and ordered that. I'd rather be safe than sorry. The Cayo has protective plates on the frame but it was a bugger getting the chain unjammed.

On my Ridley frame after dropping the chain I've used an adapter designed to fit braze on mechs to band on frames mounted just under my band on mech to bolt a chain catcher to.
