Hi anyone know how to remove a stuck carbon seat post from a Btwin hydro ac,may have to saw off and collapse the carbon that is left in the seat tube, heard this is a common fault with carbon seat posts and alloy frames. Will replace with an alloy seat post as a precaution.

Prevention is better than cure, apply fibre grip paste to post before assembly.
Sorry can't help with removing the siezed post

I bought a frame off ebay cheap once with a siezed carbon post. As it was 31.8mm I was able to clamp an old handlebar stem to it where the alloy saddle clamp was inserted/bonded. I then put a length of scaffolding pole on the stem and had a helper hold the frame on the floor whilst I leant on the pole. After an unreasonable amount of force was exerted there was an almighty CRACK and it moved, I then moved it back and forth until it eventually came out. The post and frame showed no signs of distress after this abuse and subsequently gave good service, how anyone can ever break a carbon post is beyond me
