This is my other bike! A Planet X XLS cyclocross. I love this bike, very light and quick. This is to be become my commuter on its return from repair.

A tough act to follow for a 500se (at 1/3 the price) but I'm sure you'll appreciate the different character. Just a note of caution clamping the frame like that in the stand that it's very easy to damage it, the seatpost is much safer.

Thanks Robert, this is an old picture and the white tape is a long distant memory and is now black π
Hi Chas, I know but for what I want and the ability to upgrade is a good call. That wasn't clamped very tightly, it was more for the picture after it was cleaned

No probs, I often hang my bikes like that with the clamp hardly touching.

Frame is better to clamp right?

No a carbon seatpost is designed to be clamped and is very strong. A quality frame of whatever material is designed to be light, the tubes are thinner in the centre to distribute stress away from the joins and are not designed to withstand compression in that area. It's ok to hang a frame by the top tube for storage, gentle washing etc, for general work clamp by the seat tube, for exerting force on eg pedals, cranks etc I prefer to have the bike on the ground where loads are taken by the parts that are designed to withstand them.
