I'm 5ft 8 and the decathlon member of staff was telling me to get a Large in the ultra 720 as apparently I was border line M/L. I decided to buy the medium and it's been fine. It's shorter than my older road bike (Carrera) so felt weird to start with but all seems well so far after 250miles on it. It's an awesome bike in my opinion.
As already mentioned... If you get the XL and its to big your stuck but if you get the L and it ends up a smidge to small you can always make it work by adding longer stem etc...

Wow I'm suprised the large was advised for you I think it would have been way too big unless you have extra long legs! What's your inseam measurement?

I've never been large in anything. Lol. I can remember sitting on the large in store and the seat was literally raised only a few inches up from the frame where as usually you'd have the seat pretty high. You could tell it was to big. I even looked at his chart for all the same similar Btwin bikes.

I'd say you're a medium, or a small, not large.

I have an Alur. I'm 6'1 and a half. Inside leg 31". No stem changes. Good luck with your choice. Pete. what size is your bike, we are almost the same measurments! I'm not sure what size of 700 Ultra to go to (same frame as the Alur I think)
