Picked up a 48cm Triban 3 recently and I am so impressed!
Was a bit wary of it at the start, as from the Decathlon size guide I am about 4cm too tall for the 48cm, but in reality it fits perfectly and the reach on the 51cm without a shorter stem would've been far too much.
The bike has the 2300 shifters which don't bother me too much, having used the old Sora with them, as well as the paddle shifters. I tend to ride on the hoods mainly anyway so can always reach the levers.
Will need to get some shims for the levers to bring them in closer to me a bit I'd say, the brake levers are a bit too far for me, and I am also thinking of changing to a 52 or 53 big ring, partially to compensate for the little wheels.
The bike is a joy to cycle, super responsive and handles very well. Had to do a little bit of set up on it out of the box - shifiting was a bit off and the forks were crooked in the headtube.
Current weight, without any mods is 9.8kg which is pretty good too. Without the triple and different saddle, pedals and tyres, I reckon it'd be quite possible to get it down to 9kg.

Thanks!
I'm looking forward to getting out and about with the bike.
Will be keeping my old bike as my commuter/bad weather bike (light touring frame built up as a flat bar commuter with hydraulic discs and full rack mounts). I was thinking I would never go back to rim brakes after using discs for nearly 10 years now, but I'm really impressed by the stock brakes on the Triban, in the dry anyway. Have yet to test them in the wet thought, which is where the discs really come into their own.

Welcome aboard from another new member. Sounds like you know your stuff though, unlike me.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Will be another month or so before I get around to starting the upgrades, but am looking forward to seeing how to changes the bike.
