Spent a few hours this weekend building this: Only had time for a very short test ride and still needs plenty of tweaking, although a few weeks to go to the first triathlon of the year. Think I need to change the tyres to something that matches as these were taken from my T7.

I'm on the Belgium beer after this morning's ride, looks 'funky' in my current mindset ... but then I've been known to enjoy singing along with oompah bands on top of a German mountains during apres ski sessions, so don't take my word for it !

Red sidewall rubber has to go though, black ones only and it's back into the realms of just being punchy, choose clothing wisely, either all black or full on Vini Fantini esque dayglow - nothing else will do (IMHO).

Already shopping for new tyres, trisuit is 99% black with 1% blue so should be OK.

It's screaming for some 50mm+ deep section wheels.

Agree with you completely there, unfortunately the bank manager didn't so wheels will have to wait.

On an exocet, disc rear I'd say. TT bike do look better with deep sections (these are 55mm):

Another Triathlete Nice looking bike and agree with others on black tyres. What's your first event of the year in a few weeks? I'll be in Chorley this weekend for a 2-UP duathlon. My team mate is an age-group duathlete and undecided on what bike to take. He has a Planet-X Stealth but is considering using his road bike as the course is 'lumpy' according to the organisers and not exactly TT friendly. I'm a quicker runner, he's a quicker rider (more drafting for me so should be fun as long as we don't go mad and burn out before the end. Bike leg

I'm doing the Southwell sprint distance for the third time, the maps are here: www.onestepbeyond.org.uk/southwell-triathlon-maps.phpThe bike course is fairly flat and the run short so it's a good starter. I'm in a similar situation as there are 3 of us who race together and all stronger in different disciplines. On the same course last year there was 22 seconds between two of us.

That looks a good even, flat out from the word go. The new bike should help knock off a few seconds. Chester (Olympic distance) is my A race this year - events.chestertri.org.uk/deva-triThankfully I like open water swimming!
