This may have been asked a lot, so I apologise if you're bored of answering this, I'd like to finally upgrade the groupset on my T3 but can't decide what to go for. Tiagra 4700 or 105 5800? And what specs to go for exactly/what else I need... Main question really is could my T3 even take the 105 as it's 11-speed? Then would I notice that much difference between the 2? As the 105 is pushing the budget a bit (would be my main Christmas present), if the Tiagra is good enough/a considerable upgrade on what I have then I'd be happy to go for it. Cheers guys

Depends on what wheels you are running. If your wheels are 11 speed compatible then I would go with 105, small difference in price but probably worth it for the extra gear and better brakes. If your wheels aren't 11 speed compatible then I'd go with Tiagra.

Bought tiagra about this time last year - good price on merlin cycles about 200 quid.
very noticeable improvement in braking and shifting - love it. I chose tiagra over 105 for 2 reasons - easier to change cables and much cheaper replacement components when things wear out.
as stated tho - check what size cassette your rear wheel can take. (remember you had probs finding a 650 wheel, but cant recall what you got in the end)

New Tiagra has the gear cables under the bar tape so not easier to change the cables anymore and not much difference in price between the replacement components.

Visions own website (and various retailers) says Team30 are currently 11-speed compatible and it looks like there was a previous 10-speed only version so you may still be in luck. Do you have a spacer behind your cassette? If so you have an 11-speed freehub.

Go for the 105 - it's 11 speed and if you ever decide to upgrade higher, you won't have to change all the parts over. The Tiagra is still a little bit clunky. If you hunt around, you can find 105 for under Β£250
